3D-PRODUCT-IMAGE
Paint.Guide - Effect Paints
A project of three 3D-modeled product images for Paint.guide Effect spray paints. The scope covered three different products with the same packaging type, so one 3D model was sufficient, with materials and labels swapped. The 3D model was created from a generic spray can for presales use, and once the real products arrived in stock, the images were updated to better match the actual product. Two angles were produced per product—front and side—to ensure the symbols on the can’s side were visible.
Goal
- Create high-quality background-free product images for presales use in e-commerce and marketing (B2B and B2C). First build the products using a generic spray paint can as the base, then update the images later to match the real product when it becomes available. Create a single 3D model and base the product variations on it.
Process
- 3D modeling from a provided generic spray paint can (mockup)
- Texturing – material creation
- Applying the client-supplied label
- Lighting design
- Rendering at the default 2700 px size
- Naming product images in advance to match the client’s requirements
- Final 3D modeling, 2 months later, based on the actual product package
Result
- 6 background-free product images ready to use
- Presales possible already during production
- Product images named according to the client’s requirements
- Product images in PSD, JPG, PNG, and web-optimized WEBP formats, ready to use without extra work
- Later-modeled product image delivered with the same lighting and camera angles
